The International Day of Peace was established by a UN resolution in 1981 and it was commemorated for the first time in September 1982. In 2002, September 21 was declared officially as the permanent date for the International Day of Peace. On this day individuals and organizations around the World organize different kind of activities that contribute to establishing positive and lasting Peace for everyone. Peace is not the mere absence of physical violence, it is the absence of both cultural and structural violence. It is a state of love, harmony, compassion, equality and respect from a personal to a global level. World Peace begins with each and every one of us. So let us be proactive and make a Better, More Peaceful World together!
