On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Primorski dnevnik, EFAY would like to express its heartfelt wishes and sincere congratulations to the entire editorial staff, contributors and readers of this historic newspaper, which for eight decades has represented the voice of the Slovenian minority in Italy with passion, commitment and professionalism.
Eighty years of information are a living testimony to a community, its language, its culture and its history. In an extraordinary region such as Friuli-Venezia Giulia, where different languages, identities and traditions coexist, Primorski successfully acted as a bridge between cultures, a stronghold of democracy and pluralism, and a concrete example of the value of linguistic diversity as a shared asset.
In this sense, the protection of minorities is not only a constitutional principle or an international commitment: it is a choice of civilisation.
The daily work of Primorski dnevnik reminds us that the freedom to express ourselves in our mother language and to share our point of view is the foundation of an open, fair and inclusive society.
